DaysoftheDad has been following Brain Bytes Academy in New Jersey for a while now and I LOVE all that they offer the New Jersey community! As a child from projects I didn’t always get the latest tech to play with growing up, but I have always had a passion for tinkering with things. My mother would get so mad at me for taking apart the toys my siblings had just to see how they worked. She still tells the story of when I took apart my sister’s toy computer as a four year old, leaving the pieces scattered all over the place. So learning about and participating in Lego Robotics my 6th and 7th grade year was a dream come true. 🤩
Being in robotics club not only taught me how to program, code and use the software on a computer. It also instilled in me values such as teamwork, self-confidence and respect for my peers. These programs to me (since I was one myself) are a geeks’/nerds’ “Garden of Eden” so to speak. Plus, amazingly Brain Bytes Academy offers way more than just Lego Robotics, and they offer programs for adults as well. 😲 Here’s what I’ve learned.
About Brain Byte Academy
Brain Bytes Academy the “Coding and Robotics Hub” is a monolithic new pillar in New Jersey because they teaching anyone from the age 6 and up. They have a wonderful online community, I follow personally, that shows how committed they are to the people they teach. (Picture below from Brain Bytes Academy Instagram)

Their instructors are professionals entrenched in the tech industry bringing real life examples and their expertise in the classroom. The Lead Instructor is James Fitzpatrick with more than 20 years as an MOUS (Microsoft Office User Specialist) Instructor, 17 years PC Repair and Network Technician field experience and 4 years teaching computer classes at Montville Library. So safe to say this place can teach even the most technically challenged. 😄 When messaging them through Instagram they stated, “all the benefits gained from participating in the coding and robotics stretch well beyond learning the technical, collaboration, team work, perseverance, and pushing to think outside the box.”
What They Teach 🤓
Brain Bytes Academy offers classes on coding to anyone age 6+ and classes for children, including robotics and competitions, to ages 6-18. They have an astounding amount of courses to choose from with kids classes ranging from beginner to advanced.
People can learn how to use Microsoft Office Applications such as MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, GoogleDrive or Gmail. These are great business tools to know about, or they can also be a valuable skill to have when getting ready for college. 😉 They even have more intense classes such as Website Development 101 and PYTHON coding 101 for the more tech savvy, or determined mind.
I was blown away to see that they taught things like creating apps, learning code for Minecraft and Drone Coding Studio. It’s cool to learn that they’re using the new VEX IQ Robotics which is a robotics platform designed to transform the STEM learning paradigm for young students and their teachers in grades 4-8. There’s Lego engineering (what I did 😆), 3D Design/Printing, Summer STEM Camp August 19-23rd for k-8th and so much more!
How Much does it cost?
While all of Brain Bytes Academy’s courses might not all be free to the public, it isn’t going to cost an arm and a leg to get in. They have remarkable prices for the level of service offered so that anyone can learn the skills needed to further themselves, or allow a child the chance to discover a new passion. From what DaysoftheDad viewed on their website brainbytesacademy.com, Microsoft Office classes are at a great price of $35 and most of the other courses only cost $140. You can pay for these courses monthly or on a year long basis. Which isn’t a lot when you’re talking about learning something like programming to improve your career skill set, but don’t have the money for college.
A really cool thing I want to point out is what they do for the kids. 👦👧 Brain Bytes Academy caught DaysoftheDad’s attention due to their work with children and they have two specials I want to mention. First, you can buy vouchers (a session of Coding Classes K-8) for others such as your family or friends at $35! For any grandparents in New Jersey this would be a great gift to get your loved one. Second, they have a special group program for kids that cuts way back on the price so make sure to check that out when booking too.

Help Spread The Word! 🤗
DaysoftheDad is delighted to have found out about Brain Bytes Academy and the work they do for the New Jersey community. Though they are not in my state I do want to promote their cause so that it can be shown to the people that need this type of help and I hope anyone reading this will do the same. As the Dr. Seuss quote from my son’s favorite movie goes, “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
